Valencia oranges

Valencia is the global benchmark for juicing oranges. Medium-sized, lightly seeded, thin-to-medium peel, high juice yield, Brix and acidity that work for both fresh and industrial juicing. The Egyptian Valencia window runs five months and bridges the gap between Northern Hemisphere supply ending and Southern Hemisphere supply arriving, that is the season most EU and GCC processors plan around.

Egyptian baladi oranges ready for export
Season: December to February
citrus

Baladi oranges

Baladi is the local-origin orange of Egypt. Aromatic, intensely flavoured, deep-coloured and pronounced sweetness. GCC buyers ask for it by name. It is the variety that gives an Egyptian citrus program origin character, the difference between generic Mediterranean supply and a recognisably Egyptian one. Tight December-to-February window. We work with growers across Upper Egypt and the Delta.

Sukkari oranges

Sukkari translates to "sugary". The variety lives up to it: exceptionally low acidity, very high sugar, delicate skin, tender flesh. It has a tight December-to-February window and a strong following in GCC premium retail and corporate gifting programs. We pack Sukkari in 15 kg cartons with the temperature discipline of a stone-fruit program: reefer 5 to 7 °C with humidity control to protect the tender flesh.

Mandarins

The mandarin program is structured around three varieties that overlap to cover the full Egyptian export window. Fremont opens the season in December with deep-orange colour and a slightly tart finish. Minneola, a tangelo cross with the distinctive neck, takes over in mid-winter, juicy and aromatic. Murcott (sometimes spelled Marcott) closes the season in February to April: very sweet, intensely aromatic, popular in EU supermarket private-label programs. Egyptian star ruby grapefruit ready for export
Season: November to March
citrus

Star Ruby grapefruit

Star Ruby, sometimes labelled "Dark Red" in retail, is the grapefruit we ship out of Egypt. Large round fruit with a thick golden-yellow peel. Flesh ranges from white through pink to deep red, and the rule is simple: redder flesh, sweeter fruit. Tangy, refreshing, lightly seeded. Eight size grades from 30 to 72 cover everything from breakfast portion-cut to bulk juicing. Reefer runs warmer than the rest of the citrus group, 10 to 13 °C, to avoid chilling injury.
